10 Cosy Cafes to discover in Ireland's Suburbia

We might be known as a nation all too fond of drink and in recent years it couldn't be more true with the emergence of coffee culture.  There have never been as many coffee shops, cafes and houses in Ireland, and new ones seem to open every week. We are spoilt for choice. 

Shying away from the commercial cafes, we at Suburbia Online searched the length and breath of the entire Ireland in pursuit of the cutest coffee shops to create our list of 10 Cosy Cafes to discover in Ireland's Suburbia. 

In no particular order, or preference...

1. Fumbally - Dublin

 

Located in the Dublin 8 Suburb just on the brink of the city centre, Fumbally is a collective mix of creative foodies and artists. Although, this cafe is quite big, its humble decor and layout give it a super cosy vibe worthy of making this list. Check it out here

 

2. Camp Street Cafe - Galway

 This is a quirky little spot located in Co. Galway and the food is good too. Apparently, if you ask nicely, the owner will play some tunes for you as you enjoy your food as he's a musician. The Cafe even looks like a house. What could be cosier than a home away from home? Check it out here

 

3. Cafe Noir - Limerick

There are more than one of these Cosy Cafes in Limerick including the Suburb of Castletroy and Raheen. The owners set out to  ‘to introduce a French Café culture but with an Irish twist’. There ambition is to channel the brilliance of French tradition whilst adding our own touch of Irish inspired artistry. Check it out here

4. Muriels Cafe Bar - Belfast

This place is intimate, quirky and it has a great buzz. Check it out here

 

5. The WorkshopBallygarvan, Cork

 

This Cosy little cafe in Cork makes a mean coffee which you can enjoy surrounded by antiques and other lovely bits and bobs. Check out this quirky cafe here

6. Ebb & Flow  Cafe - Clontarf, Dublin

 This is one of the newest additions to the leafy suburb Clontarf. Located on the coast road it has quickly become known for its coffee expertise and better yet it's attached to the well known Salon 56, so you can get your hair done too. Great coffee; great hair: ideal. Check it out here

 

7.The Happy Pear Cafe - Wicklow 

 

Well this place needs no introduction.

The Happy Pear is now a household name, known the length and breath of Ireland.

8. Salamander Cafe- Newbridge Kildare

Salamander is well regarded by locals,

and highly recommended on Tripadvisor as the number 1 cafe in Newbridge.

9.  The Jarrow Cafe- Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny

This cafe is open seven days a week, serving breakfasts,

lunch, Sunday lunch, snacks, desserts, teas and freshly ground coffee.

10. Suas Cafe - Ennis Co Claire

Last but not least, Suas. According to the Irish Times
